Pros: Excellent experience of the instructors. The quality of information is first rate.
Cons: The time allotted for the course is very short to review all information. The manual provided contains irrelevant information, it could add more examples. It suggests not put irrelevant information in the manuals. The English-Spanish translation is not clear, there are many grammatical mistakes and confuse the participant.
Other Thoughts: Suggest that the course would last for three days in order to validate the issues and deepen them.

|Good 2 day intro to BCMM by graham.bell|

Pros: Good level of detail and supporting material. Exam provided the opportunity to really test your understanding of the detail. Open-book format made the exam challenging rather than daunting. Tool itself looks very promising - well structured and clear. On-line benchmarking facility offers extra potential. Course length was just right.
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: One word of advice. When the course intro says that this course will not teach you the principles of BCM, they are absolutely correct. Make sure that you have a reasonable level of understanding / experience before you use this course.

Pros: This course brings together 3 of the main DR/BC standards into 1 easy to understand and follow framework. The details of BS-25999, ASIS-SPC.1, and NFPA-1600 are effectively cross-mapped so you can learn the standards' main points simutaneously. The information can immediately be used to measure and improve a company's recovery & continuity program. The a**essment and audit also supports governance and regulations like PS Prep, Sarbanese-Oxley, and HIPAA. As a learnable tool, this is probably the best value for training dollars.
Cons: Without an understanding of business continuity, the Model's matrix of 6 levels and 8 competencies may become confusing. A thorough understanding is not needed but the student should not be a beginner.
Other Thoughts: The ICOR staff did a lot of preparation work in creating the new training materials. Having taken the course a few years ago, I can see the improvements in the materials and the Model. I can recommend this course without hesitation to anyone who wants to improve their company's recovery & continuity program.
